London Biska Jatra 2024
The 2nd London Biska Jatra is being organized by Pasa Puchah Guthi, UK this year. This biennial event celebrates the arrival of spring, positivity, and happiness as the weather in the UK warms up. This celebration coincides with the Biska Jatra of Bhaktapur, Nepal and the beginning of the Solar New year in April.
It's a festival of Bhairava, a deity revered in both Hinduism and Buddhism. Bhairava is considered a powerful manifestation of Shiva in Hindu tradition and a fierce emanation of the bodhisattva Manjusri in Buddhism.
The London Biska Jatra is hosted by the South-East London branch of Pasa Pucha Guthi UK, with its president Madhav Shrestha serving as the coordinator under the supervision of PPGUK, BOT president Sushil Prajapati. The hosting branch constructs the Bhairava Rath, while the London branch supports with the Bhadrakali Rath. The Aldershot branch brings the Yosin dyo, and the Reading and Scotland branches support with welcoming guests and coordinating Dhime and Bhuchhey players.
